Each copywriting project kicks off a process that starts with discovery calls and emails to collect information, outlining or planning and behind-the-scenes research before the writing even begins. If you approach this with the idea that something should only take 1 or 2 hours, because “it’s short” or because of the fee, we might not be the right fit.
You’ll get an estimate of the fee and the turnaround time before work begins, but please note that my process helps me deliver results. Essentially, you’re paying for results, not for hours spent.
Other frequently asked questions…
What information do you need for a fee estimate?
At a minimum, I’ll need to know:
- Type of project (website, ad, email newsletter, etc.)
- Scope of project (how many pages or length)
- Your deadline (I can often commit to a 2-week turnaround. Less will be a rush project.)
How much do you charge?
I estimate fees by project. Before we begin, you’ll get an estimate of the total fee for the job. I stick to those estimates too, so there will be no surprises. Half is due upfront as a deposit, with the rest billed when we’re done. Larger projects are billed on a milestone basis. Recurring monthly work will be billed as a monthly fee.
What forms of payment do you accept?
You will be invoiced via email and can pay by check, credit card or direct deposit.
Do you require a contract?
Yes, I will provide an agreement letter that spells out everything we’ve discussed.
Are you available to start now?
My schedule fills up quickly as I have a mix of recurring clients and one-time projects. Contact me as soon as you can to find out when I’m available.
